Come, All Those Who Are Thirsty!

Posted by shinelikestars on March 21, 2006

Dear family,

Dying to share a testimony with u all. Still remember on one santification wkday (if I remember correctly,it should be Thursday), Ps Eugene gave out a water bottle to everyone to ask us to pray and to give it to someone as the Lord led the very next day.

On Friday, I held on to the water bottle for all the classes that I was having. When I reached my form class (Sec 2E), I felt prompted by the Spirit, “This is the class.” The Lord gave me this class for a purpose. But there are 37 students in class, which one should i give? Holy Spirit brought me to a verse which Jesus said, “Come, all those who are thirsty”. At that point of time, I just asked the class, “Who is thirsty and wants to drink this water?” Quite a number of students raised their hands. But then a boy called Marcus (haha, so coincidental) responded, “There’s must be something wrong with Miss Lum.” Immediately, some hands put down. But still, too many for me to choose.

I asked again, “who is really, really thirsty that u would want this water desperately.” This time round, I noticed one boy who raised up very fast.  But I pondered and paused, as he openly rebuked about Christianity in my class last year, claiming that his Christians classmates are arrogant and that teachers treat Christian differently. However, somehow, I felt i needed to give it to him and I told him in Chinese at the end of lesson, “Ni geng God you yuan” (You and God have fate. He looked very puzzled and asked me back “Really?”. I just smiled and quite happy that he did not retaliate. =)

Few days passed, on Monday, during my class, he was very mischievous and deliberately chose not to answer my questions in class. I jolly well have forgotten the incident. In fact, I scolded him and asked him to stay back after class. After class, I pulled him out of classroom and he started crying….I was shocked! He apoplogized and told me that his father has been hospitalized and has lost his job since Feb but the mother and elder brothers refuse to tell him anything more. At that moment, I know God has led me to him to pray for him. I started sharing that God has planned for me to give him the water bottle and that He know his problems. Comforted and assured him not to worry and I prayed for him.

And today, miracle happened!!!!He came and told me that his father is perfectly all right already. God has answered our prayers. Knowing that it is the right moment, I asked him to come to church this Sunday with another 3 friends and he agreed! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!

Please continue to pray along with me that this student of mine will not change his mind about coming service this Sunday and that he and the other classmates will experience God this Sunday. =)

His servant,
Cindy Lum
